Five Minutes At A Time
Written by Douglas Horton

It is Monday and the start of another week in La Manzanilla. In Mexico the weeks are six working days long so Sunday is very special when it arrives. Yesterday or as they say in Spanish "ayer" was Sunday and a beach day was in order. Tenacatita was in full splendor with white sands, nice surf and the ocean not warm but refreshing.

Well that was yesterday and today is today and the stairs to our new swimming pool are being poured; hopefully finishing of the stairs will occur this week but one of the maestros is not here as he enjoyed his Sunday a little too much and was not able to rise for the occasion. This is something that happens on Mondays with regularity as the Sundays are just too much fun with drinking cervezas, tequila and such.

The Mexican way is to live in the moment and at this moment I am writing a blog that is supposed to make people interested enough to spend time to read what is going on here in La Manzanilla in June 2008. For those of you reading this it is another sunny day in paradise and I am just trying to live 5 minutes at a time. Catch up with this blog later for more exciting things to be written.

Well, I have to say that I really missed the Sundays in Mexico. I miss the beers, I miss the tequilas, I miss the friends, I miss the Toros, but overall I miss spending time with the family and Sunday are also a family day.
A good philosophy

Life can be so complicated but it doesn't need to be. We should learn from those in Mexico - live life one day at a time and enjoy each moment as it happens!
